1913 in Oklahoma adoptiert. Per her daughter Nancy, at about aged 8 her Grandfather took her mom and uncle Wes and ran off to Oklahoma and adopted out the kids to a Mr/Mrs Russell. They did not want Wes but took Iva who they renamed Mary Catherine. Iva went by Mary for the rest of her life.

Macomb Township - Mrs. Laura A. Beatty, 77, of Pontiac, died Thursday in Crittenden Hospital in Rochester of an illness. Surviving are her Husband, Rhoun of Pontiac, two sons, Laverne Beatty and Myron Beatty, both of Pontiac, four grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren, a sister, Mrs Clara Schwark of Macomb Township, and two brothers, Martin
Schoof of Florida and Roy Schoof of Utica.
Funeral Services handled by the Sparks Griffin Funeral Home, 46 Williams, Pontiac will be at 2 PM Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church at 318 Auburn in Pontiac with the Rev. Ralph Claus presiding. Burial will be at Perry Mount Park in Pontiac
